FO: KOIGU KOMET
I showed you a sock quite a while ago and never followed up with the finished pair. Believe it or not, I finished these almost two months ago (yes. I am way behind in my blogging).
Pattern: Komet by Stephanie Van der Linden
Yarn: Koigu KPM in a delicious green (I find that Koigu colorways are indecipherable).
Made For: me. I've made a resolution to be a lot more selfish in my knitting.
Ravel them!
For some reason my camera had a rough time capturing the color ... and they are all felty on the bottoms from my pretty much constant wear. That's the best you're going to get.
I'll leave you with a shot of the three pairs of socks I completed this semester ... stoplight colors :]

FO: ELLY SOCKS
Now that the birthday has finally passed, I can show you some awesome socks.
Pattern: 2x2 ribbing. Genius I know.
Yarn: Hand-Dyed Sock Yarn from Big Sky Luxury Yarn in Lafayette, CA
Made For: Elly, that dear friend of mine.
It was hard to give these up. Really really hard. In fact I may have worn them once or twice pre-gifting.
Speaking of Elly, she's a brand-new (a couple months now) knitter! Look:
I taught her myself and she's 100% addicted. Plus she's a yarn snob right from the get-go ... that's Malabrigo you see in her hot little hands. Reminds me how much harder it was to teach myself -- but at the same time how much more independent it made me.

RAVELRY (1)
Those of you who are on Ravelry will recognize my SUPER AWESOME BUTTONS that are now underneath each post! If commenting is just too hard to do (which is how things appear lately), click the appropriate button to let me know your reaction! How exciting!
You will noticed I added my own "WTF?" button and got rid of the "educational" and "interesting" buttons in order to better reflect the material that appears on this blog. Feel free to click click click away at your pleasure.

FO: LACE RIBBON SCARF
I have a rather large backlog of FOs to share (I always seem to finish everything at once and then have, gasp, NOTHING TO KNIT), so here is one of them.
Pattern: Lace Ribbon Scarf by Veronik Avery
Yarn: Paca de Seda by the Alpaca Yarn Co. Alpaca/silk. Gorgeous and soft.
Made For: Myself. Please. How could I give this lovely stuff up?
As beautiful as the fiber and the pattern are, they do not go together as well as I would have hoped. Alpaca is way too drapey for stockinette-based lace and, no matter how many times I block it, the darn thing curls like heck.
That's okay. I love it anyway. Have you SEEN the color? Be jealous.
Special thanks to Caitlin, my fellow RA and fabulous friend, who willingly models and photographs knitwear with no weird looks.

I HAVE THE BEST FRIENDS EVER
It's been a rough three or four weeks here in Tacoma. Fortunately, my friends know that I've been having a hard time, and when I came home yesterday I found these:
And this:
Cookies and sock yarn. What could get any better than that?
In the knitting department, I decided against the sweater. More socks instead:
Jaywalker by Grumperina in Panda Silk (I've been telling people it's real live panda entrails. With the colorway, it's almost believable).
Yes, they are being modeled by a bottle of juice. What of it?
